Janos Mayer is adjunct professor at the Department of Business Administration of the University of Zurich.
Before joining the University of Zurich in 1989, Janos served as senior research fellow and head of the Department for Operations Research of the Computer and Automation Institute, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, Hungary.
He received the Dr.rer.nat. degree in Operations Research from the Eötvös Lorand University, Budapest, Hungary, in 1976, and a PhD degree in Operations Research in 1986 (same university).
His primary research areas are stochastic programming and quantitative finance. Currently his research is focussed on the development, implementation and applications of numerical techniques for portfolio optimization and behavioural finance.
